Symptoms and Signs of Hashimoto’s Disease

The symptoms of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis are vast and varied. Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune condition where your body develops antibodies that attack and destroy thyroid tissue. This results in both hypothyroid and autoimmune disease symptoms. Conventional endocrinologists do not usually treat Hashimoto’s Disease until the destruction of your thyroid is far enough down the line that TSH, the only thyroid lab test they evaluate, is elevated.

Many patients with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis go undiagnosed and leave their doctor’s office with a  feeling of helplessness and no treatment. Your doctor should be looking at several lab markers to determine your thyroid health. You can find them here.
