Almost every single function in our body requires thyroid hormone. When that process is interrupted, symptoms such as fatigue, heat and cold intolerance, weight gain, joint and back pain, hair loss, brain fog and infertility are common and potentially just the beginning of a long list of ailments.
It is estimated that roughly fifty million Americans suffer from some sort of metabolic disease. It is also estimated that fifty million Americans have some sort of thyroid disorder. Coincidence?
Did you know that Levothyroxine is the No. 1 prescribed drug in the United States and that Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (aka autoimmune thyroid disease) is the leading cause of hypothyroidism across the world. We must begin to understand our bodies better and why this is happening.
In 2016, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. Two years of meeting with doctors and specialists afforded me little symptom relief. After intensive research and becoming my own health advocate, I put auto immune thyroid disease into remission naturally.
About My Approach
The three pillars of Integrative Health are Mind, Body and Spirit. My approach takes into account all aspects of a person's life which are many times forgotten in conventional medical settings. 80% of your health is determined by lifestyle factors. We can absolutely alter our gene expression. I put Hashimoto's Thyroiditis into remission via dietary changes, high quality supplements and mindfulness. The power of positive habits and mindset can overcome the hereditary aspect of disease. Our bodies are designed to heal themselves, we must allow for that. We implement small and practical action oriented steps to get you back to optimal health.
